During an emergency, the Chair of the Humber Resilience Forum Voluntary Sector Sub Group takes part in the emergency services Tactical Coordinating Group. This group provides a place for collective knowledge of an incident to be gathered and to allow the smooth coordination of resources and actions between all emergency responders and the third sector to occur.
To aid in swift communication out to voluntary groups of an incident taking place we are asking for emergency contact information from organisations so it can be added to an official mass notification system. This allows either the Chair of the HLRF VSSG, emergency services or ERVAS to contact voluntary sector organisations informing them of an incident via SMS and email. ~If you would like to be involved if there is a local issue (e.g flood, fire, terrorist attack, other disaster). Please request and complete the form provided to you with the contact details you wish to be added to this system.
In addition to the mass notification system a WhatsApp group has been created for smart devices to allow two way communication between key contacts at voluntary sector organisations during an incident. Please note this is an informal group and sensitive information should not be shared on it. If you would like to be part of this group please provide the mobile numbers of those you wish to be added to the spreadsheet.
Finally, to aid the representative at the Tactical Coordinating Group and the emergency services make informed decisions as to which organisation would be most suited to provide assistance during specific emergencies. Please could I ask you to request and complete the Response Activation Spreadsheet.
All details will be stored securely and will only be shared with the emergency services during an incident. Please can you return this information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please pass this on to any other organisations as well.
