Working Together to Safeguard Children – Multi-agency Training

Aims:

To understand the need for inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and the processes in place to support this work as laid out in both local and national guidance.

Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will have;

• Gained knowledge of national legislation and the procedures in place to safeguard and promote the welfare of children as outlined in the ERSCP Procedures and Guidance.
• An understanding of practice pitfalls as highlighted by local and national serious case reviews and learning lesson reviews.
• Improved communication through a common understanding of key terms, definitions and thresholds for action.
• Gained knowledge of how Child Protection Conferences are convened in the East Riding and in particular the importance of conference reports, core groups and the development of Child Protection Plans.

Course Dates and Application

This training is made up of two sessions (Part A & Part B) and attendance at both will be required to complete the course. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis but we will try to give you your preferred time slot to attend Part B if you indicate below.
