Course aim
To develop participants understanding of safer recruitment in relation to safeguarding children
Target audience
This course is aimed at Education staff and is based on the statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’. However the course is open to all recruiters working in children services.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course participants will:
- Identify the key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
- give participants an awareness and understanding of offender behaviour
- Consider policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting
- Help participants begin to review their own and their organisations’ policies and practices in recruitment with a view to making them safer
Additional Information
Due to Covid restrictions this course is currently being run over 2 on-line sessions (both sessions need to be attended)
