Free Bitesize Cervical Cancer Prevention Awareness Sessions.

January 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

About this event

To mark Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (Monday 23rd January – 29th January 2023), Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance is supporting Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust campaign to raise awareness of NHS Cervical Screening by offering free bitesize cervical cancer prevention awareness sessions.

Cervical cancer is the most preventable cancer and cervical screening can help identify changes in your cervix and the cells, before cervical cancer starts, yet almost one in three people with a cervix don’t take up their cervical screening invite.

Along with Jo’s Trust, we want everyone to have the support and facts they need to feel comfortable to access cervical screening. That’s why we’ve put together a bitesize session to teach people about:

• the signs and symptoms of cervical cancer

• Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the HPV vaccination programme

• what happens at a cervical screening test

• hints, tips and experiences that will help women and people with a cervix feel more able to book a test

These sessions are all held virtually and will be about 45 minutes in length. Select a date and reserve your place today.
