The Yorkshire and Humber Multi-Agency Safeguarding Trainers Group (YHMAST) are excited to offer this webinar, as part of its Domestic Abuse from a Child’s Perspective series, for those working in the Yorkshire and Humber areas.

In this seminar, Professor Jane Callaghan, University of Stirling will explore children’s experiences of domestic abuse, with a particular focus on coercive control and disruption following domestic abuse. This presentation will draw on extensive interviews with children and young people, and with non-abusive parents, to explore how we might best understand and support children and young people impacted by domestic abuse.

 

Biographical Details

Professor Callaghan is Director of the Centre for Child Wellbeing and Protection at the University of Stirling. She is a psychologist and interdisciplinary scholar. She works in an intersectional framework, with a specific focus on violence against women and girls, children’s mental health and wellbeing, and the impact of social exclusion and discrimination.
