All you can Eat in Three Square Feet – Food Growing Workshop
July 25 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm£10
About this Event
An introduction to growing food in small spaces, including practical planting activity and learning about how to get the most from a minimal growing area by selecting the right plant varieties for your space, using techniques such as companion planting etc.
This workshop will be very much focused on practical, hands-on learning and will include a tour of ‘The Plot’ – our 1 acre community site, comprising mature woodland, tree nursery, wildflower meadow, nature pond, food growing area, mini orchard and polytunnel.
Light refreshments will be offered and all materials will be provided, though participants may wish to bring their own gardening gloves and drink.
Please bear in mind that the site is a working allotment & woodland area, which includes some narrow paths and uneven ground. Down to Earth Hull are keen to welcome people of all abilities to the site but are conscious that parts of the site are not accessible to all, so anyone with mobility issues or related health conditions is advised to contact us in advance for a friendly chat about how we can best accommodate your needs.
In order to ensure participants’ safety Down to Earth Hull are adhering to the latest government coronavirus guidelines; this includes restricting numbers of attendees at all sessions and ensuring physical distancing during activities, along with appropriate handwashing and tool hygiene.
Due to these current restrictions on numbers, we would be grateful if people could limit themselves to booking onto no more than 2 of our workshops from the current programme, until such time as government guidance on gatherings alters.
For any specific questions about the workshop, or for any general enquiries about Down to Earth Hull, please e-mail email@example.com or call Karen on 07531191867 or Andy on 07936006452 for a friendly chat.f
