East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd receives funding for Volunteen Withernsea

East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd celebrates after receiving £25,588 from Withernsea Big Local, administered by Local Trust for The National Lottery Community Fund, to help young people living in Withernsea get involved in volunteering and social action activities.

Local charity, East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS) Ltd is today celebrating after being awarded £25,588 through Withernsea Big Local, administered by Local Trust for The National Lottery Community Fund. The Volunteen Withernsea project is an exciting new development for East Riding Voluntary Action Services, which will benefit young people in Withernsea and the local community by encouraging and supporting young people to engage in a wide range of youth volunteering and social action activities, locally, regionally and nationally.

ERVAS has been delivering youth volunteering and social action activities since 2010, to encourage, recognise and reward children and young people’s volunteering and social action achievements within the East Yorkshire area. Volunteen Withernsea is their latest project, following on from the previous Volunteen Plus project, which you can find out more about here: https://ervas.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Volunteen-Plus-Project-Evaluation-2017-2020.pdf. It will also work closely with several other ERVAS Volunteen projects, including Volunteen Green and Volunteen Voice.

Detty Tyler, Children and Young People’s Services Coordinator at ERVAS says: “We’re delighted to have received this valuable funding support through Withernsea Big Local and administered by Local Trust for The National Lottery Community Fund, as it means we will be able to press on with our plans to broaden the range of youth volunteering and social action opportunities available to local children and young people within the Withernsea area. This is more important than ever, as due to the pandemic, children and young people have had less opportunities to get involved in these kinds of activities, which benefit them and their future enormously, as well as the local community.”
